Roma women City-käytävässä

Three Roma women are standing in the Citykäytävä shopping centre, in front of a café. Two of the women stand sideways to the viewer, the third stands with her legs apart and her hands in the pockets of her long light-coloured jacket. All are wearing a scarf and a long skirt.
The Roma population of Helsinki began to grow after the wars, as the residents of the areas forcibly ceded to the Soviet Union were forced to move.
