The roof of is being repaired
Share
The old, deteriorated layers of roofing felt have been removed, and part of the roof decking has been replaced. Scaffolding has been erected along the side of the house. The courtyard is filled with construction debris and materials. A tired construction worker sits on the steps, leaning back against the front door.
The dilapidated early 19th-century wooden houses were restored and converted into a museum between 1978 and 1980. A roofer takes a break on 7 June 1979.
