An unofficial traffic sign

An unofficial traffic sign in Patola. In Helsinki slang, the homemade sign tells drivers to drive slowly because there are children on the street. The picture on the sign features a child kicking a ball and another jumping rope. At the base of the sign is a piece of fishing line with more painted pictures of traffic signs attached to it, warning drivers of children.
The dialect known as Helsinki slang was born in the 1890s as a colloquial language that united different language groups. It features loanwords from many languages, especially from Swedish, but also from Russian, German and English.
