Cast-iron urinal in 1912

Cast-iron urinal in 1912
Share
An oval-shaped cast-iron urinal building in front of a board fence. Above the board fence are signs say-ing ‘scrap dealer’ in Finnish and Swedish. In the background is a stone building with a men’s clothing store and a shoe shop. The foreground is paved with cobblestones.
The cast-iron urinals were elegant but durable. The sides of the urinals were decorated with reliefs and the eaves with decorative mouldings. The urinal in front of a scrap metal shop on Hakaniementori Square was immortalised in 1912. Partial enlargement of an original photo.
